I think the misunderstanding is where the spacer goes and how the spring effects the needle position when it is reassembled. I've done mine (and put it back to stock because it was to rich) and it does raise the needle about 0.060" as I remember. Mine has a changed (slightly larger) idle low speed jet that takes care of the mixture. see previous posts. I think once the technician sees the set up he will understand what is happening and you'll both be OK. Max
